London Marathon 2014
Yesterday I went to the London Marathon 2014 with my kids, it was a really nice day out and we all had lots of fun! We even saw Mo Farah run past. There are a few photos below and some more details on the day.
Our day at the London Marathon 2014.
We arrived at the London Marathon 2014 really early, it was a bit of struggle to get out of the house and catch the train but it was worth every moment. We arrived at around 8:30 am so that we could get a good spot and be able to see all of the athletes going past. 6 of my good friends were running the marathon so we followed them all the way to the first stop which was the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. We stayed there for about 2 hours and even saw Mo Farah running past aswell as our friends who been training so hard for the last few months.
From Greenwich we caught the DLR to Canary Wharf and the kids really enjoyed walking through the tunnel underneath the river Thames. We arrived at Canary Wharf just in time to see our friends running past again! We managed to keep in contact over a text messages so they knew were we were and could meet up with them further on in the marathon.
I have a lots of respect for everybody who ran in the marathon and the atmosphere was incredible with people from all around the world. Some of the custumes were amazing, we saw Spiderman, Captian America, Micky Mouse, Wonder Woman, Superman and many more…
Finally, I would like to say how proud I am of my friends Jo and Paul Mathew; they trained so hard for the big day and both of them raised so much money for charity. I know how hard Jo worked to raise all the money, she did not stop and doubled her target. All of my friends did really well and I am so proud of them. Our final stop was Westminster, where everyone was in such good mood and the weather was really great, we even got a sun tan!
